    What is Vital Monitor

Vital signs monitor (often shortened to just vitals) are a group of the 4 to 6 most important signs that indicate the status of the body’s vital (life-sustaining) functions. These measurements are taken to help assess the general physical health of a person, give clues to possible diseases, and show progress toward recovery. The normal ranges for a person’s vital signs vary with age, weight, gender, and overall health.

    Working Principle of Vital Monitor

Usually, Vital Signs monitors measure and tracks NIBP, ECG, Temperature and SPO2 parameters
3 or 5 lead electrode is used in ECG. It also can be used for respiration tracking .
Pulse oximetry is a noninvasive method for monitoring a person's oxygen saturation (SO2). Its reading of SpO2 (peripheral oxygen saturation) is not always identical to the reading of SaO2 (arterial oxygen saturation) from arterial blood gas analysis, but the two are correlated well enough that the safe, convenient, noninvasive, inexpensive pulse oximetry method is valuable for measuring oxygen saturation in clinical use.
The term NIBP, for non-invasive blood pressure, is often used to describe oscillometric monitoring equipment. It uses a sphygmomanometer cuff. The cuff is inflated to a pressure initially in excess of the systolic arterial pressure and then reduced to below diastolic pressure over a period of about 30 seconds. When blood flow is nil (cuff pressure exceeding systolic pressure) or unimpeded (cuff pressure below diastolic pressure), cuff pressure will be essentially constant. When blood flow is present, but restricted, the cuff pressure, which is monitored by the pressure sensor, will vary periodically in synchrony with the cyclic expansion and contraction of the brachial artery,
For measuring body temperature, thermistors are used. A Thermistor is type of resistor whose resistance is dependent on temperature

    Vital Monitor Accessories

There are accessories provide connection between the monitor and the patient which are ECG cables and electrodes, NIBP hose, connector and cuff, SpO2 connector and probe(disposable or reusable), Temperature probes.

    Usage Area of Vital Monitor

Vitals are used in Neonatal Clinics, Operation Rooms, and Intensive Care Units.

    Instructions for Vital Monitor

Plug the device into power line.
Swtich On/Off button to turn on device.
Set ECG, SpO2, NIBP and Temp parameters on menu using Encoder button
Plug ECG, SpO2, NIBP and Temp probes into sockects on right side of device
Place ECG electrodes onto baby's body. Make sure each one of the electrodes are positioned correctly
Put on NIBP cuff to baby's arm. Then blood pressure meausurement can be used manually or automaticly
    Place SpO2 probe to baby's finger .
You can freeze the screen and inspect parameters by using freeze button
By holding 3 seconds to Encoder button, you can enter the menu.

    Warnings about Vital Monitor

Keep the device off liquid interaction.
